Yah just sand the painted area down you dont have to reprimer but if your bored you can sand it all the way down to the plastic then you can reprime and paint and so on.

these 3 you can see the mirror shine i managed to get, but only the inside of the bottom stayed mirror shiny, you can see the outer part lost its shine and has some orange peel

^ i dont think so, as you can see, i got a 100% glossy mirros shine, you can see the perfect reflection of the cig lighter socket and cd's, my problem is that after one day of being in the hot sun in the car, orange peel seemed to come back on the outer sides of the waterfall?

This is just me but it looks pretty dry as you go down the waterfall on the sides but if it bothers you that much just wetsand it agen and buff it and polish it.

Ive also noticed on the top part of the waterfall it looks textury too which also looks dry. From experience what you spray on the first coat its going to affect every other coat thats going on top of it. So if you spray light and dry on the first coat every other coat is gonna look that same way most of the time. RECLEAR IT hehe.

^i explained why it looks like that in my post up top, the top section of the waterfall was my first try, i was unsatisfied so i did it again, but only on the bottom section, im not worried about the top, i want to know what would cause the orange peel to reapear?

Orange peel comes out on how you spray the material but if you wet sanded it already and buffed it out and suddenly it came back iono man but oviously the only way to get rid of it is wetsanding it.

duplicolor sandable primer
duplicolor wheel paint, graphite
duplicolol wheel clear

i know its not wheels, but i figured if it can last on a wheel, it will be fine for interior pieces, maybe i was wrong?

if you think its the materials, what primer, paint, and clear do you recommend?
