Does anyone have the Alpine IVA-W200 and a PAC SWI-ALP and have it working on a tC with steering wheel controls? I am looking to buy this headunit next week and would like to keep my steering wheel controls. I spoke with Crutchfield and they said it would not work with this headunit. Is this true or am I not looking at the right unit for the controls?

 

Even if you find the right one, it still may not work, those things are hit and miss. It may or may not work after the money for the part and the installation...but hey, maybe it will!

Thats the part that I think you'd need for the alpine, but call alpine if your really unsure or call crutchfield again and speak to somebody else

 

I've heard good things about the SWI-ALP. I plan on switching my SWI-X for one. The one I have works but its annoying. Volume down you can hold the button and it goes real fast but I have to hit the volume up button everytime. And the Track up and down is hit or miss, mostly hit but the misses are really annoying. You'll probably get a response from someone with the SWI-ALP soon enough.

 

I just installed the peripheral version of that steering wheel adapter in a TC w/ a W200 and it worked great!
