I've been using ED's SQ10 for my dual 10" custom hidden box, but noticed Pioneer has a 10" slimline as well in the TS-SW1041D. I know ED makes nice stuff and I like the SQ10 subs a lot, but I'm curious if anyone has ever tried the Pioneer TS-SW1041D and if so, what their opinion on it is. I know there are a lot of ED fanboys on here so unless you have heard the two side by side and have an honest opinion, don't chime in.

I'd say listen yourself to one

If you're buying authorized, I don't think you'll find it worth 2.5x the price of the SQ10.

Yes...I've heard one. No, they aren't bad, just the price justification really makes me go...huh.

eBay it for the same price as an SQ10 and you won't be disappointed, but pay $180ish for one, and I don't think you'll be thrilled.

 

Thanks for the replies, guys. Chris, this was meant as no offense to ED. I love the SQ10. Was just looking at the Pioneer sub and wondering. As you might have seen, I've been offering the dual SQ10 hidden sub box similar to your single box (mine made of fiberglass) and have been showing it off locally. Most of the questions I get are "what is Elemental Designs?" and they think it's something of lower quality. A name sells, so that's why I was looking at the Pioneer subs. Now most who hear the box go, "wow, sweet", and forget that they never heard of ED, but for those who are not local and are interested, they still have that "WHO?" question that I can't erase by letting them hear the subs. Honestly, I never heard of ED before coming onto the board. I'm happy I have, certainly.

You guys need to start some damn commercials so my prospective buyers know who you are!

Yeah, I was looking at the Pioneer ones on eBay for $78 or so. The diameter is a little wider though, so I don't know if it'll work out.

I'm still working on a left side box so I can get people to buy 4 of your subs per car! Have any discount pricing if I buy a bunch of subs?

 

speaking of boxes, any of you guys plan on making a SQ10 box for the xB to go next to the spare?
