Default Problem with Factory Sub

Recently I bought and had the JVC 3.5" DVD player installed in my '06 TC. The factory Sub plays fine with the radio but doesn't hit at all with the DVD/CD functions. When I called the installers they said it was due to the way the factory sub hooks up to the aftermarket player. They also said that the sub controls would not work on the deck due to the same problem. Has anybody had this same problem and if so / if not what can be done to fix it? Thanks for your time.

replace the factory sub with aftermarket sub and amp... you could even keep the enclosure, seal the port on it, and drop in a 10" and an amp....

would just have to make sure the aftermarket 10" would accept the interior volume of the enclosure which I THINK is somewhere around .7cu ft..

Hmmm I wonder if the opposite would happen if I kept my stock headunit and replaced the factory sub...

I think the new shallow mount eD "SQ10" would be perfect for that box. AND its only like $50 for one of them!!!

anyone know if a rockford fosgate p2 10" will fit in the factory sub box? Anyway, if it could, which would you reccomend, that or the eD SQ10?
