Default Problem w/ Parking Lights and Alarm Wiring

Well, I've been having issues with my parking lights not flashing when I unlock and lock my car via remote (aftermarket alarm). I would have my brother check the solder joint, resolder and it seemed to be working again. I'd have it a day and I'd have the same issues.

Here is what I found...

I am tagging the brown wire at the switch for the parking lights.

Normally, when I drive, I have the headlights on. When I turn the car off, I do NOT shut the headlights off - rather I just open the door and they go off automatically. Its just a habit.

Now... If I leave the headlight switch in the "on" position, my parking lights DO NOT flash when I arm/disarm the remote. However, if I were to shut the headlights off normally, then the parking lights DO flash when I arm/disarm.

Has anyone seen this issue? Do you have the same issue when you tap the brown(+) wire in the fuse panel under the dash instead of the brown(-) at the switch?

Damn cars.

You're tapping the wrong wire.

there's more than one brown (-) wire that activates the parkling lights in the steering column switch? Which one then?

I just tested the other wires at the switch, and this is the only one that works.

I'm going to try the positive trigger in the top fuse box, but its hard to get in that little space - sucks.

Let me know if you know which 30 pin harness is the correct one...from what I can see, its the middle one.

I just tested the brown + trigger in the 30 pin fuse (left one). It is the same problem, except + instaed of -.

If you leave the headlight swithc in the "on" position and leave the car, it won't flash the lights. But if you leave it in "off", the parking lights do flash.

I'm curious to see what magic wire you used
