Question about interior clear coat.
Hi I'm going to repaint my door panels since they seem to scratch real easily and take paint off. I used clear coat. What did you guys use? Where can I find it? Is there a specific process?
I've used Dupli-Color interior paint OEM flat black. Problem is it scratches real easily and it is not easy to run a microfiber cloth down the door panel without getting it caught in the texture...
Is this due to the clear coat? What do I need to do? I do not want to sand the texture down.

If you already painted the plastic, youre pretty much stuck with it. There arent any chemicals that I can think of that'd remove the paint without messing up the soft plastic underneath it.
If you're changing colors on fresh plastic, look for SEM vinyl/plastic dye. Comes in an aerosol can and costs around $12-16. Make sure u clean the plastic well with alcohol or similar to remove anything that'd prevent the dye from adhering.

Call your local upholstery shops, otherwise google it and you'll find a number of online retailers.
Since the door panels are slightly soft when you push on them (foam core), normal paint will flake off. Dont do it man!
