Default Quick help...

I searched for this first and did not find what I was looking for, so here is my question...

I was working on some lighting in my dash today and blew the fuse for the lights for the spedo, tachometer, etc. The the lights for the odometer, gas warning, abs, etc work, but the ones that light up the needles and numbers do not. I did I quick check of the fuses under my dash and then under the hood and they all looked ok. What I want to know, is if there is another in-line fuse right behind the dash for those lights?
Thanks a ton in advanced!

If this is a re-post, I'm sorry, I did search first!!

Edit, MOD PLEASE MOVE TO ICE

No one?

I cant imagine there is no one here who does not know.

Please help, as I am leaving for a month long road trip in two days and would like to avoid the $60 diagnostic test on my car to tell me what I already know.

so.....im not sure if there's an in-line fuse or anything. But are you sure all the fuses u checked worked?

Look in the manual for the fuse that those lights are on the location of the fuse in the box. Then take a fuse of the same type and replace it. If not..i dunno

what kind of lighting did u put in?

If there is a few behind the cluster, it would be the first time I've ever seen such a thing, so probably not.

Keep in mind, sometimes a fuse can blow, but not look blown...you might wanna try replacing the lighting fuse just to be sure, even if it looks ok.

If thats not it, you may want to try unhooking your new lighting and seeing if that fixes the problem...kinda work backwards in a way...

I looked through the book and only found where the two fuse boxes were located.....I think it was page 208 and 225 or something like that. I don't remember seeing a list of which fuses do what.

Its kinda hard to explain what I did.....I installed an alpine iva-d310 indash dvd system. It twas single din so I had to use a fit kit.....the problem is that I also had to remove the radio cover because the screen would not open right with the door there still. So now I have the opening for the little storage box filling up where the double din would AND and opening above the fit kit that the door would normally hide...

So, I took an cut a piece of plexi glass to cover the whole opening, with a cutout for the alpine unit.....then I used night shades pain on the plexi to smoke it out to basically black. When you see it during the day it just looks like a black trim piece. But to spice it up a bit, I got 5 feet of streeglow, hotwirez in neon blue to run behind the plexi, so at night when the cubby light/dash lights are on, the neon string would light up behind the black plexi and give it a deep blue glow to match the blue buttons on the alpine unit.....hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Either way, it is driving me crazy not being able to see how fast I am going when driving at night.

Ok so I figured out which fuse was blown (I was looking at the diagram upside down before). But now that I replaced that fuse and the cubby hole light and the dash lights work, I have a new problem. When I turn the headlights on, the dash lights and cubby lights turn on, but the light behind the clock turns off and the buttons dim. I really dont understand this. When you turn the headlights off, they turn back on again......any ideas?

if they dim when the headlights turn on, thats normal, and if they get brighter when the headlights turn off, thats normal too...

thats part of the dimming circuit so that its not as bright at night.
