this happens to my pc computers too... usual phones to mess w/ speakers are the nextels, and sidekicks and anything i think is frequency heavy. makes like a ch ch ch ch sound. you can't stop it, so jsut live with it lol. that or throw yer phone in the back seat where it interferes least w/ the HU.

I've seen it mostly with Motorola phones (nextels are the worst with this). My tv does it and in other cars aftermarket radio did it. I don't think there's any way around it.

Could it be something with shielding on speakers? I've noticed some pc speakers had that issue but others I've had didn't.

This is found on GSM phones. They use a frequency range that is picked up by unshielded speakers/wiring. CDMA phones do not have this problem.

Yea, its the phone and the service...its interfering. It's like a wireless router in one's home. It transmits at approx 2.4ghz, and if you have a 2.4ghz phone, then in some cases, it can completely knock out the wireless system. 5.8ghz phones or 900mhz phones don't have this problem....its the same principal. Either the phone or the service is interfering. Maybe you can change a setting on the phone to have it broadcast slightly differently? There is on my phone...

Some cellphones simply don't like to be ignored....

Never have had a problem with any of my Sprint PCS phones, have see it with some other people's phones using other services.
