Running 7Kv.2 for Subs Now
In December I decided I no longer want to keep my Dual 12" subs in my car since it took up the entire trunk and didn't allow the rear seats to recline. So I ordered a couple 7Kv.2s from eD and a sealed box. The subs came it real fast but I didn't get the box until yesterday. While waiting for the box to come in I tried putting them in the rear speaker slots. They fit, but there was too much vibration and something kept shorting or grounding and I couldn't figure out what. So I scrapped that idea.
Anyway the subs are great, take up almost no space in the trunk and sound better than the Dual 12" in a ported box. I don't think they are as loud but the sound quality is much better and they are a perfect match with Alpine Type-S components and coaxials. I went a while without subs since I took the Duals out and the music was all missing it's punch, this put the punch back in the music and it's not overbearing at all. I've only tried it with rap so far but I plan on trying some rock, acoustic, and Phantom of the Opera music as well. I'll update once I try the other music types if people are interested.
