Default sat ready - i have stock radio 08 scion

I have a sportser4 from my old car. I have two options: 1) install the sportster but i really can't find a good place for it and really i dont want to have the unit in site. 2) I got the "normal" radio that comes with the 08 scion tc and the radio says Sat ready on the front of it. Would there be a easy/cheap way for me to get my sat service through the factory radio ???

thanks in advance

"Sat Ready" means your HU is able to connect a satellite receiver (with the proper equipment) and have the read out appear on the HU. There are 2 ways that I know of how to do this. The expensive way is to buy a SIRIUS Satellite Radio Receiver. The other and less expensive route is to buy an PIE TOY03-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter. By using the Aux Adapter method, you loose the readout to appear on the HU. But you have the Sportster, so no problems with info appearing on that.

Before I bought my Alpine HU, I bought an Aux. Adapter to hook up to my iPod and Sat. radio to my stock HU. I even did a DIY. Here it is...

*DIY*-PA11-TOY Aux. Adapter For iPod/Sat. Radio/DVD Player

I put my S50 in one of my cup holders with the kit it came with. People really like the placement because it's centrally located and anybody sitting in the tC can see the info on the unit. I really liked my Aux. Adapter! It worked flawlessly. I ended up selling it to a friend and he really liked it as well. If you don't mind not having the Sat. info appear on your HU, I would go the Aux. Adapter route. GL.

Thanks for reply.

Well if i wanted to just use the sportster all i would have to use is pwr, ant, then run a cable to the AUX port right ? That seems to be the cheapest way possible. I just can't find a good place to mount the unit.I was thinking about the reciever because i wanted the cleanest look possible.

BTW: the 08 comes with an AUX port so i wouldn't need that extra part.
