Scion Optional Navigation unit
no door, and i personally think that if it had the door it would look "aftermarket" looks great flushed with the HVAC, i see a lot of people complaining that its crap cause theres no door, i personally LOVE that its gone.....as for it screaming "steal me" thats a risk you run when you put anything pricey on a car, my super dark tint and my alarm will help with that!!
no bluetooth, i strongly BOOOO that too, i think its the ONLY thing its missing, just have to stick to my headset.
in any case, i love it.

^ one of the bigger reasons why i didnt wanna tint mine.
that kinda sucks scionbabe that they didnt give you at least the door; not necessarily installed or anything just a "just in case". iono but thats just me
and i think you can also get the parrot bluetooth thing to add bluetooth to the HU if you wanted to, but i doubt that its factory. :/

I really don't understand why Scion decided to make their optional nav delete the radio door. One of the biggest reasons I felt comfortable putting in my AVIC-D2 was that I have the door to hide it behind!
Right now I just popped out the rubber stoppers and got it set into place. It is a little to tight, it will close, but it touches on the bottem and sticks out about a 1/8". This weekend I will prolly take it back apart and move the HU back a bit to get it back to a smooth open and close.
Has anyone found a bypass for the sns100 yet? It's the sns that came factory installed in my tC, and its pretty much useless when your moving. I have tried going to the factory menu and getting to the override button, but it won't take me there. I have tried the e-brake up one-click, and that won't let me access the destination features.
Right now i still have my garmin gps in the car in case i need to enter an address while i'm moving but it is getting quite annoying!
Any help would be great!

I have the SNS in my 08 tC and I love it... I have done the bypass someone on here posted. It involved cutting the brake wire that they installed... then I put a switch on the VSS wire. When I want to change something, I just flip the switch. Same goes for movies, everything works while moving... I'll go so far as to say it was a yellow wire I put a switch on, look for a post that tells you which harness to cut it in. (btw, it will work with just cutting this wire, but the motion is not as smooth on the screen, and anytime this wire is not connected, the maint. items will not work... such as, oil change at 5000, the vss wire is how it counts down the miles.)
Also, when I ordered my tC, I told them I wanted the door and they gave it to me after they were done. The only gripe I have is that the "premium" head units they offer have SW outputs, and this $1500 more expensive unit doesn't. All it has is a video out for head rests or whatever...
