can you explain a little more on how you bypassed the speed sensor in order to have full access while in motion?

Nobody has answered the question as to whether this is backwards compatible with previous model tCs.

i have heard yes, the sns 100 is compatible, but there are some gaps and slight modification is required...not a perfect fit...but i dont think that all the wires needed to hook it up behind the dash would be there. overall, not sure lol

Flawless installation with the required fit kit.

Does anybody know if there are any CD changers compatible with the SNS?

Not sure about the HD radio, but I have XM and don't really want to hear local commercials in HD. Seems pointless to shell out that money for a receiver just to hear commercials.

Also as far as those above stating that the door, if your dealer gave it back to you when asked, doesn't fit right.....it aint true. I have an 08 tC with the SNS and the door fits perfect. Actually too perfect. Because the door gives a little to spring it open and closed, it actually touches the mute button on open/close. Not a big deal, just a little quirk.

Also, yeah the motion sensor sucks when disabling the destination features. I might go with that switch idea later on.

Bluetooth in a car seems kinda stupid to start with for two reasons: 1.) I don't want my conversation blasted over my speakers and 2.) as soon as you turn your car off you have to use the handset. Whats the point of going hands-free, if you eventually have to use your hands? Honestly, my bluetooth headset never has to turn off and if I've got crap to unload from the car, I don't have to stop my conversation just because my call was dependent on the car.

Anyway, I love this navigation system. The blue buttons are something you don't see on any other system and with everyone else getting a D3 or Z2 (yes, they're nice, but totally played out now), it's refreshing to not have the same thing as everyone else.

The touchscreen is responsive, though the audio cues for directions could be a bit louder since highway driving can get pretty loud at times.

DVD usage is radically limited though. Can only play movies that ONLY have a movie on the disc. If there is a game or some computer content, the system thinks is a DVD-ROM and it wont play it. Same goes for DVD-R, RW, RAM and any other kind of non-pressed discs. I was shocked that my plain-jane Transformers DVD didn't work at all.

I've had this installed on my ride for a while now and love it. A new development to take note of however its that the sample picture of the unit on Scion's website now retains the stereo door... they may have developed a new installation procedure to accomodate this.

I have a 2007 tC and am interested in upgrading to this. I have the Bazooka sub in the fender well that you can add to the tC. I would like to install this with the door intact, but do really like the pics without the door. I probably have some other questions, but any insight would be appreciated.

Can the SNS be installed on the 2007 tC?

Can the SNS run the Bazooka sub?

Anyone have more info on whether or not it can be installed with the door?

Thanks.

As previously stated... I have a 2007 tC and it installs no problem.

Is there more than one model or version of this? I am hoping to get one second hand and want to make sure it will work. Its from a 2008 gen2 xB. Looks like Toyota has changed the part number a couple of times, but it may be the same model just a cross reference.

I have a question for those who installed this themselves with the Scion bracket to fill the space where the door would have been. Please shoot me a PM. Thanks!

Sorry, man. I cannot help you there. I have the Bazooka sub and I'm pretty sure it will just plug into the back of the SNS. I think I saw a harness cable somewhere that goes out of the stock head unit or SNS and goes into RCAs for exactly what you're looking for. Try Ebay.

I've seen it before and I thought it was on Ebay, but I'm not seeing it now. If I'm understanding what you're wanting to do correctly, you need an adaptor harness to RCA for an external amplifier. I'm sorry I can't be more help.
