I have a Greddy Counterweight Shift **** that I love, but in my BSP tC it burns me daily. It's made of steel and I live in TX and I do not have covered parking.

So, I need a new shift **** that does not get too hot in 100 degree weather sitting out in the sun. However, I rather it be weighted.

Anyone have anything in mind?

 

just put something over it.

i have the TRD brushed aluminum shift ****, and it is always too hot or too cold, so i just put one of those scion ipod/cellphone wraps they give out for free at car shows.

 

when its crazy hot out the stock shift **** gets stupid hot too

I suppose I could just cover it...I already hold a napkin over the **** for 15 minutes while it cools down

Get a weighted delrin shift **** from Dr Isotope, it does not retain heat very well so it is slightly warm when first touch, but then it is fine 15 seconds later.

 

my OBX gets really hot when i forget to leave a hat over it.

 

A hat does the trick most of the time.....but yeah where you are it might be too hot for that even...I also have a couple of the wrist bands scion gives out just in case and put it on before you leave the car.

 

i was gonna suggest putting a rag or small towel over it while its parked but it looks like you guys beat me to it. haha! try that and you should be good.

 

Yeah I really like them, but they're pricey. My **** was only $16 shipped new.

Get one of those neoprene beercan coolers-- you can get them at pretty much any dollar store. That's what I had to resort to during my short stint with a TWM classic.

I don't have the problem anymore. :D

You'd have to make a mold and cast it. Urethane doesn't machine... well, at all. And it would be kinda soft-- urethane durometers in the shore 60-70A range. That's pretty soft in shift **** terms.
