I would say no... But Im no expert...

The shifter cables are traveling the same amount, just the throw of the shift **** is decreased...

not sure either, but you should totally get it. i have one and I love it. after a day or two of breaking it in, it feels so much better shifting.

Will not shorten the life unless you think your a race car driver on the street and you pound every shift like your trying to punch the car in the mouth. Drive it normall and a short shift setup feels amazing.

Seriously, I have watched some wanna be racer kids pound shifts so hard it hurt to watch while just driving around to lunch or whatever. I was like WTH are you doing? 1/2 the time they miss the shift or grind the gears because there fast and furious skills are lacking.

shouldn't shorten the life of the tranny unless you, as stated above, can't drive, or think your car's a lot faster than it really is, Love my SS, would recommend it to anyone
