Default Should i replace my midbass Perfects with Eu-700?

hey i have a set of infinity perfect comps in front, they are seriously lacking midbass, does anyone think replacing the midbass drivers with the eu -700 is a good idea, and simply lowering the setting on the Crossover....or is that just a stupid idea, i have about 150 W going to each speaker now, which should be more than enough for the eu-700's

I wouldn't suggest making that switch because those crossovers are designed for the Infinity set. Having different speakers changes the sound characteristics. Unless they just happen to match you'll get some very unfriendly sound. I see in your sig that you are already using ED comps. Get another set for the front. Also remember that the front midbasses are using the entire door as an enclosure and not a good one at that because they are full of leaks(most of them intentional to let water out). Changing components might give you better sound if they are well suited to that configuration. If you want truly great midbass and sound overall, you need a box in your door for the midbass. <--- Can be very expensive if you can't DYI.

Mark,

Are you looking to replace the 6.5" component w/ the 700? If so, I'd say no. I'd suggest using it as a midbass in a 3 way set up. 700 in the doors(sealed of course, the little holes at the bottom won't affect it too much) and 6500s in kicks.

I was thinking about replacing my Arc 10 inch in the back w/ 4 Eu-700s!

Hi Chris, this is Bradl, I'm one of Brian's (Dewmerz) friends. Great product, can't wait to get more!
