just to let you know... the starmate is discontinued...
so if you run into a problem with it... which i have seen a few... you will be all over hell and back trying to get something to replace it

the best of the units.. by far... or the ones with the best FM transmitter.. sportster replay, starmate replay, and the S50... by far.. are the best three... they are the ones i install most fequently.. and are the ones i see the most lighting up the interior of most cars when i am driving down the expressway at night...

Just for clarification, if I have an 06 HU with the iPod option, a Sirius kit will work?

As in this one here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099388389939

Or just the one made for Scion, like at www.trdsparks.com

Thanks for the help!

I wish I could answer that. You'd likely have to check with Pioneer on that one. Sure makes the SCION kit look overpriced, doesn't it?

I am torn between getting a portable, and having one that works with the Pioneer HU myself...

If you want to use your factory headunit with the SAT button You have to buy the parts from Scion. You need the TUNER and ANTENNA So unless you want a seperate receiver pay the extra money and get the factory piece. But if you are not gonna keep you factory unit dont waste your money
