Default Sound Dampening...

I am planning on deadening my car sometime in the near future... but I'm not sure what product to buy. I am leaning towards the self adhesive but I'm not 100% sure.

Also, what is the differnce between the eDead 45, eDead 80, and eDead v4?

the difference is the thickness of the product. The thicker it is the better it will work. I have edead 45 because they had it on sale for a really good price, they have sales at different times. I have like 110 sq ft in my car and it worked really well, I still have some hatch rattle but it helps keep the sound in the car really well.

the paint on liquid seems pretty easy to apply.

How much was it (if you don't mind me asking)? I'm probably going to buy about 130sq ft because I want to eliminate as much of that rattle as I possibly can.

well i got it back when it was like 50-75 cents for a sq foot so it came out to like 100 something after shipping. 130 would reduce a lot of the rattle, I have pretty much every panel done, I didnt do the floor of the car, except for the trunk and i didnt completely seal the doors yet because im waiting to get aftermarket speaker.

you could get the liquid edead then put the edead 45 over it, if you are will to spend the money.

i have 110 sq feet in the whole car not just the rear, and like davedave said it is for road noise too and to hold in the sound. I could careless about outside rattle, I dont hear it so I dont care.

if you are serious about this project use second skin damplifier or dynamat extrme

the edead stuff is not all that great. I used roughly 80sq ft....wasnt happy with it. It was the newer edead 45....weak.

you can instantly tell just by holding the second skin in one hand and edead in the other that the second skin is better, the foil is much thicker and stronger.

spend the extra and you will be happy

Car Toys put in two layers of DynoMat across my entire trunk after installing my custom box w/ 10" pioneer. Not only does 90% of my project inside my car, I have almost no hatch rattle (just the typical tC rattle) and my exhaust doesn't sound loud to me as the driver. I do realize that I probably gained 50lbs from the dynomat though...
