Default Speaker question

Hey-- i know the standard speaker is the 6.5" but I have a fairly new 5x7" Polk... any thoughts on being able to squeeze this one in there- with minimal alterations??

oval speakers dont produce the greatest sound quality... that comes from true circle speakers.

im sure you could probably make a custom baffle to mount it if you really wanted to though

Not to mention that you may have to cut some of the factory baffle on the door to make it work.

It won't be bad - 3/4" spacer should work once the factory baffle is removed... There would probably even be room for a 3/4" + 3/4" if you removed the ring on the door panel inside..

This is what I was reffering to. You're going to have to cut the ring on the inside door panel. Not that hard, but still a little more modding than I would be willing to do for some 5x7s.

If you're looking for new speakers, Elemental Designs has some outstanding 6.5" component sets....

eD(i)6000s v.2's are $95
eD(i)6500s are $250 (no forum discount at the moment)
