for some reason my headunit can't read mp3 songs any more? i only had it for 4 months i dont know why do i have to get a new one? and is that cover in the warranty?

 

i believe it is. might want to take it into the dealer just to 2x check. but hey if all else fails... aftermarket

It should be. My betty has a Toyota Matrix and she's replaced the HU twice under warranty. As long as it's legitimately defective, they should replace it.

Have you tried putting the MP3 files in a subfolder on the CD? I had an issue earlier where the stock HU wouldn't see some files until I put everything in a subfolder. It's a quirk with the indexing algorithm in the stock HU (I can't call it a bug because that's how it's designed to work )

 

The OEM unit is covered under the warrenty. Mine one day decided to eat a CD. The tech couldn't get the CD out so they ordered a new head unit. Swapped for free. Scion even sent me the CD a few days later.

 

my unit lasted maybe 2 months the most and its an 07, the dealer says they need to see the way they installed my alarm so that they figure it out. they're to much down time to deal with.
