This is for the guys with 2008s and with the stock sub. I am going to be adding an aftermarket amp and sub and need to know if I need to unplug my stock sub or not. I have a sub plug so I can hook up the amp but just need to know if I need to do anything with the stock sub.

 

I would turn off the stock sub. it may start to bottom out and sound like crap

 

you can't simply turn it off. you've got to un-plug it. so the answer to your question, is yes. Un-plug it. Better yet, take it out completely, and build an amp rack in the space.
