Default Sub/ Amp Package

First let me start by saying i know very little about car audio. Im looking at a sub/amp package. They go for a relatively low price. now can i connect this to my STOCK HU ? also if it comes with an amp do i connect that to the STOCK HU also? is this all possible? what cables/wires do you need?

once again thanks for any feedback

If someone could write some sort of "faq" for setting up a sub/amp with the stock head unit and the methods available and the items necessary, i'd love to make it a sticky.

Looking for something similar to this: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=105012

If you can at least send me info and what you need, I'll format it and post it and give you full credit.

Ok, when it comes to sound, you really need to know what you want. I'm going to guess you want nice clean, loud, crisp, overall music. Not too bassy, but level. And I'm also going to guess that you don't want to get too involved with either the installation or the everyday tuning you have to do. Am I right? You want something youcan put in, and it'll sound good.

Ok, The quick answer is yes, and no. That kind of system is VERY attainable especially on a budget. You need to get an amp wiring kit, or buy all the wires seperatly. Chances are that you don't know what your doing, so just buy the kit. Buy the amp and sub. Either together or seperatly, you might save a buck if you get em together, but you won't get a SUPER amp or SUPER subs. Pro's don't buy premade packages. YOU DO! Ok, when it comes to wiring everything.....have a friend help you. It can get a little complicated for someone who's never done it before. You will need to run quite a few wires, and it can take a while depending on how well you have it done. You also might want to consider taking it to tweeter to have it sone professionally. But don't go showing it off like you did it yourself.(please)

Yes you'll need to find a grounding point near your amp. Yes, you'll need to "hook it up" to your stock radio.

I'm sorry if i sounded mean or angry, try www.caraudioforum.com they answer questions like this all the time. They have TONS of info there too.
