Default sub/amp problem

My sub stopped working today after about 2 hours of constant use. The amp still gets power but nothing happens. What could be the problem?

Does your amp have an overheating indicator? Is the power light a different color, which could indicate that the amp is overheating?

I don't think it has an overheating indicator light the only light it has is the power light which is red like normal.

so the sub only stopped? the rest of the speakers are fine? after you've turned off the car for a while, will it start working again?

you did check your fuse first right?

can you push in the subwoofer cone? and does it come back out?
can you take your subwoofer out and hook it up to another stereo in another car or in your house? while it might not sound good, sound should come out. this is just to make sure the sub works.
use a multimeter and check the voltage coming out of the amp, (same way you would adjust the gain). if there is voltage, then your subwoofer is probobally fried. if there isn't voltage, then it's probobally your amp.

sounds like you may have fried a voice coil.

Bye bye sub...that sucks

Tune your gains a little better next that, use a DMM that will allow a full volume range without killing your sub.

No sound comes out when I push the sub in. And the gain was barely up, not sure if that makes a difference or not.
