Default sub issue

I just hooked up a Pioner 5900 HU. Before the install i already had a sub and amp hooked up to the stock headunit. At first my sub was working with the new headunit, but when i opened my hatch..the sub cut out and now it won't turn on.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

i don't think so, because the bass was barely even up...Also I forgot to mention this happened twice, cause I had to take out the headunit to plug in the i-pod cable so again it turned on, then off when i went to open the hatch...
