Much better. Now that may not be the problem, but it would have been sooner or later. did you get your subs working good now? I saw the new ohm diagram you were going to try to that the load was a 4 ohm instead of a .5 ohm?

Loose wire. Redo all your wiring and solder this time.

If you have any doubts about this, then take a look at Pioneer's web page for your subs, and near the bottom you'll see that they state the following;
"TS-W306DVC provides two voice coils, each at 4 ohms. This design offers you the flexibility of turning the TS-W306DVC into either a 2-ohm sub (voice coils connected in parallel) or an 8-ohm sub (connected in a series)." Ok?

No matter, the solution is still the same as I stated back then, so the drawing you posted will suffice, because that's how it needs to be wired. Go ahead and wire it all exactly as that drawing shows and it'll be fine, the diagram is correct even though the impedances stated don't represent your parts.

The drawing shows each 2 Ohm DVC sub wired in series for a 4 Ohm load.
The diagram then shows the 2x 4Ohm subs in parallel, for a 2 Ohm load on the amp.
You'll do the same for each of your 4 Ohm DVC subs, to get an 8 Ohm load.
You'll then parallel the 2x 8 Ohm subs, for a 4 Ohm load on your amp.

Don't be concerned that your amp is only spec'd for 500W (250 to each sub) into a 4 ohm load, as that'll be <3dB less than the 900W it's supposed to do at 1 & 2 Ohms. In reality it'll be louder at 4 Ohms than how you've had it up til now, because it shouldn't cut out on you anymore, if load was the issue.

What? You can't do that, or you'll be back where you started with the problem.

If you have everything wired like the drawing shows, then your amp "sees" a 4 Ohm load, and will put out 500W, which is 250W for each sub, and you have no shutdown problem.

The only way to get more power would be to parallel each sub's coils, then parallel the 2 subs, which would present a 1 Ohm load on the amp, but that's what caused the shutdown problem.

With 2 subs that have dual 4 Ohm voice coils each, there are only 2 ways to wire them to your amp. You can have either a 1 Ohm load or a 4 Ohm load, you have no other options unless you get different subs with a different impedance.

You're best off leaving it at 4 Ohms since it won't shut down, and more power isn't needed anyway.

dude ur doing what u did the first time. just get the load to a 4 ohm load. it won't be as loud but it won't die on you either.

No, it's not right, because you never had a 0.5 Ohm load!

Your problem was due to a 1 Ohm load, and even though the amp is specified to support that, it's obvious that it can't in your installation, because it was shutting down when you had it wired at 1 Ohm.

Wire them like the first diagram you posted shows (and how you said they were wired now), so that the amp sees a 4 Ohm load and doesn't shut down. There, you're done, don't try to "fix" it if it's not broken, no need to do anything now but enjoy the bass.

Read my posts again and try to understand what I said. Here, I'll rephrase it: You can't get a 0.5 Ohm load with the 2 subs you have! As I said before, you can wire them for either a 1 Ohm or 4 Ohm load on the amp, no other choices, so it was a 1 Ohm load problem you had, not 0.5 Ohm.

It seems like you might be confused by tc-guy's post from last week, where he mentioned how the impedance is halved when you bridge a 2 channel amp. If you were using one of those, then the amp would "see" 0.5 Ohms when you hooked up your 1 Ohm load of the subs to it. This is NOT the case for your mono amp, as it will "see" the same load as you connect to it, so try to remember the differences between between these types of amps.

No prob dude, always like to try and assist when possible. The important thing is that it's fixed now, and you got to learn something during the process.
