Definatly need what subs and what amp and is it hooked to a line out converter.

If the wires are good then seems like protection mode or wrong impediance.......just a start.....

More info.....like how are the subs wired.....

Example.....I have dual 2ohm if I remember......and my final outcome to the amp the way it is wired is 1.33ohms.....but my amp is 1 ohm stable.

More info.....also could you tellus what guage wire is going to the amp to power......I would for the known wattage use 0/1 at least......you got a lot of power pushing out.

maybe I didn't word myself correctly. yes, the crutch amp is probobally not 1ohm stable. but my statement that the number of voice coils not mattering, was assuming that he knew wiring basics. but the OP not knowing what 4ga or 8ga means, meant that i should have not made that assumption. However, the OP stated that the subwoofer volume has decreasing, and then increasing randomly, which means that the amp is not entering protection mode. If it were overheating, it would be going from on to off and vice versa, not decreasing (but still audible). Therefore, it sounds like much more of a bad ground issue than an overheating issue.

I've seen bad grounds cause on and off. You'd be surprised how stupid some people are when it comes to putting this stuff in their car. They act like they can do it and aren't willing to pay a modest fee to have it done right and working the first time. Instead they would rather risk setting their car on fire or taking their equipment back saying its defective when the real defect is the person. Sometimes I honestly wonder how society has made it to where we are today. Apparently we have started to go down hill.

Anyway I believe that if the amp is getting a signal from and LOC and the ASL on the headunit is on that it could be causing an issue. Again who put the equipment in and if they knew what they were doing.
