This is what would I do:

Headunit > RCA cable > 2ch Amp > Front Speakers

Just cut off the connection coming from the headunit to the front speakers and leave the rear speakers alone. Then connect the Amp's speaker output to the front speakers. And you're all set!

Stock headunit or aftermarket?
If stock you will need an adapter to give you rca connections.
If aftermarket just plug the rca cables in and run new speaker wire to the doors.

Actually you can just use the wires you cut off of the radio. It is still going to the front speakers. Just run wires from your amp back to your headunit and connect it to the wire you cut going to the speakers.

I would suggest mounting the amp underneath the passenger seat.

Just visualize and use your imagination. You can do this!
