Default tC gauge problem

Wats up everyone. Recently i had replaced all the LED's in my gauge cluster and HVAC unit to blue. wen reinstalling and calibrating the gauges the coolant temp gauge doesnt swing properly or consistently when turning the vehicle on. I have tried to register the pattern and find the right location. Ive even gone as far as hooking up a toyota scan tool and adjusting the needle to the proper temp but it wont hold. Its behavior is erroneous and im starting to think the motor in behind the gauge is done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a side note i almost blew my engine racing because my waterpump went and i couldnt read my temp lol

Does your needle fluctuate when you turn your key to on??
There is two problem
1. Needle motor is shot (you can probably hear gear grinding, might be hard to hear)
2. Bad soldering on the circuit board some where..

Try swapping out a needle motor first...
