Default Tc system setup/install help needed

I have just purchaces a 06 flint mica Tc. I am compiling a list of components that i will need to install a audio system.... i have posted in ICIXsound.com and through them (and help from Mandos via Ed's tech support).

Headunit= decent alpine from previous ride (save a lil $$$)

Front Speakers= EDs 6500 components
Front Speaker Amp= Ed nine.2

Rear speakers= nada (better sound stage/quality or so ive read/been told)

Sub= 16O.v2 Duel-2 @ 1200rms 1ohm in a sealed box (im sure it will be loud as all hell regardless (will prolly keep gains at 50%initially
Sub Amp=Nine.1

deadening- 120' edead v1SE

Total for amps, speakers, sub, and deadening= $1130ish (i think.. package deal

Optima Yellow top-- $165

[
Wireing...all from krukoncepts
Item # Product Name Remove Quantity Total
KOL-AK4 Complete 4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit $31.99
KOL-AK44 Complete 4 Gauge 4 Channel Amplifier Installation Kit $37.99
BT-104N Negative Battery Terminal $12.00
BT-104P Positive Battery Terminal $12.00
FB-1024D Digital ANL Fuse Distribution Block w/ Fuses $39.99
PB-2044 PB-2044 Ground Distribution Block $16.00
FH-20 In-Line Waterproof ANL Fuse Holder w/ Fuse $19.99
KOL1/0R 18' of Kolossus Kable 1/0 Red Pwr Wire $40.50
KOL1/0P 5' of Kolossus Kable 1/0 Purple Pwr Wire (ill use this as gnd wire) $13.50

KruKoncepts misc wiring stuff Total= $250ish

overall total: $1500ish

Okie, as you can see from the above. I have no clue on how/what i need to hookup the system itself. I have tolled and searched many boards and my confidence has slowly been built up. I have Mandos's gutting guide practically memorized and have printed out the both his guide and the guide to doing the big 3. My plan was to do the complete install/deading myself...however, i sortof have no clue how to hook up amplifiers/head units... soo

this is my plan:

1. order all of the above.
2. do the big 3.
3. fabricate the baffles using miko's templates
4. fabricate the box using ed's design for their prefabbed sealed box (if i get emailed the specs)
5. Gut the car and apply the eDead vSE.

this is where my origional plan has issues....
at this point ill prolly

6. attempt to run of the power wires/speakerwire as i possibly can figureout and connect/bolt amps and install the 6500comps (im already dreading installin the tweeters).

if I am successful in installing all the amps correctly, ill then go to step 6
if not, ill go directly to step 7

6. attempt to reinstall all the piece that i gutted in the tc by backtracking the guide
7. bolt in the front seat and drive to best buy (or some local stereo shop (i dont really know any of them... im in claremont, ca btw if anyone knows good installers) and have them install the head unit and whatever else is left.

Well, this is my plan.. any help on doing this install would be great. I think i can manage the gutting part thanks to mandos's guide. I can prolly figureout the front speaker install (ill prolly have to buy a dremmel) and the optima battery should be basic also. My main issues are doing the big 3 (the sounddomain guide is ok but im still a lil sketchy) and installing the (not a clue at running power wire/ground/dblocks/fuses/ect) amps/capacitors. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

shaun

do you know running 1oHm for a sub is mostly vibration? i'd prefer running subs at 4oHms, i think it sounds much better.

Umm... I think you're talking about Knuconceptz wire correct? Krystal series I'll assume, by price. Great cable.

You're saying duel as in a pair or dual 2 ohm? Just making sure, cause no way are you fitting a [air of 15's back there without major fabrication.

??????????

Sub= 16O.v2 Duel-2 = duel 2 ohm vc.......while i have no clue what Hoeney is talking about, if for some reason these sound horid at one ohm, i have basicly 3 options. 1) getting another 160,v2 and wiring them to 2ohm which would give them 900 rms total. 2) wireing this single at 4 ohm (450rms). 3. buying a 2nd nine.1 and run both amps at 4ohm and connect each to one vc, giving it 900rms @ 4 ohms.

I'm with Mandos in saying... "What??"

one ohm will be just fine.....I wouldn't suggest going to Best Buy or Circut city....the installers there aren't always certified and ghetto rig stuff on occasion....

yea, I have never installed any audio equipment before. I just had some relatives look at mandos's walkthrough and the ask me if i was fookin nuts. So, i went to a local audio shop that seems really high quality. Basicly he said to bring the Ed gear in when it arrives and he lemme know. I asked for a vague estimate and I was told $100 per amp, $65 components, $45 hu.... plus $45 per hour of labor. I didnt even bring up the cost in labor of deadening it w/ 120' of eDead.

So, unless i can figureout how to do this myself, it looks like im going to probably shell out $600ish on the install. :/ Considering that im loosing confidence that i would be able to put my car back togeather agian after gutting it. I dunno, hopefully i will find some wiring diagrams and figureout exactly what components i need to buy and how to do the install and all that good stuff.

Running 1 ohm simply means that you will draw more current from the amp. That is it. It has nothing to do with the sound response of the sub. You are simply applying more power to your subs, making them louder. I think what you mean is that running 1 ohm on an amp not capable of running 1 ohm will sound horrid, because the amp will begin clipping. As long as the amp can handle the low impedence it will sound fine.
