Planning on spraying my third brake light red and maybe soldering a few more LEDs to it. But my questions today is for those who had already done the mod, what kind of LEDs do you guys usually use on it, or if anyone knows what kind of led is the stock ones? Hopefully this is not a dumb question =).. THANKs EVERYBODY! PICTURES after i am done =)

 

stock are snap led's.. which you cant buy... so the best alternative would be superflux.. http://www.lumiledsfuture.com/produc...e.cfm?lineId=4 HPWT-MD00 i used 24.. better because they are more reliable and have 4 times the viewing angle of a 5mm.. your brake is a purpose... not a decoration, so you want wide dispersation and reliablility... im using the same for my tails as well... can check my cardomain for picts and stuff...

 

I added 12 Superflux LED's, spaced evenly to match the spacing of the stock LED's. Superflux LED's are definitely the way to go, as they are very bright and have a very wide viewing angle (the ones I used are 12,000MCD, and 120° viewing angle).

that guy sells the kit to do it all the way down, but he says he will send a uncut board with the leds, how do i do it if i wanna do it myself?

 

can u show me how is the "uncut board" look like ? what kind of the material to make it?

I just wired them in parallel. The board puts out 2.3V, so the power is just right. No resistors required.
