Default Time for a down grade fellas SORRY!

Okay guys at first I was thinking of taking out my two 12" volfenhags and replacing with some 10" JL's but now I think I am gonna get rid of the extra bass all together. No more need to rattle to death my head and my car. So I need some assistance... anyone with some advice on an aftermarket product that either one will fit where the bazooka enclosure fits but with just enough bass but not too over powering or I once saw on here someone had one of those kenwood 6.5 powered subs that can slide under your seats someone on the forum had it under there floor cover in the hatch in that cuby hole thing. Anyone had any luck with these types of enclosures and if so whats the best one and how much and where from and would you recommmend it or something else to me. Time to put the car back into the stock look again no more need to draw attention and no more need to drop more money in her until she is paid off. Thanks Cory.

at best buy we picked up Infinity. and we just put up the popular infinity basslink powered sub and i must say it sure does pack a punch for its size! I had to screw it down to the floor in the showroom because it was vibrating all over the place. So i would def give that a shot, or at least look into that option

An 8 or a 10" will work no matter on brand. Obviously you get what you pay for, but if you're looking for subtle bass, not too powerful, a nice 8" will do.

I have an infinity basslink. It takes up very little space in the hatch and can still give a pretty good bump. I didn't have to nail it down or secure it anyway. It seems no matter how hard or crazy I drive, the sub never moves. It's a solid little product and I highly recommend it.

I am pretty sure that would not work for me. My current setup had two handles, one on each side of the box and was secured to the tire down mounts in the four corners of the trunk with heavy duty steel wire, you could not untie the wire with your hand only two options pliers or wire cutters. But somehow I always managed to have it come loose. Well I decided to order the kenwood KSC-SW1 instead of the basslink 2 because of lots of reviews about the sub blowing or the amp crapping out. But I wish I would have gotten this post sooner and also crutchfield is throwing in some polk components and coaxs cheap. I am a VERY good customer to them. I wonder if I should call them up and have them exchange the kenwood for the basslink.

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but my Basslink does not move at all. I have it in the vertical position and use the feet that it came with. It defies the laws of physics and stays put while I drive like a jackass - no screws, no steel wires. The only way it is attached to the rest of the car is via the power, ground, signal, remote control, and RCA cables that are bundled together. Here! Take a look...

I can't tell you much about the long term except to say my buddy's lasted for a long time in his Integra until it got stolen, and mine has given me zero problems for the six months I've had it. I'm sure reports of subs blowing and amps crapping out are due to people not tuning it properly during setup and then cranking the juice - resulting in said damage. I tuned mine according to the instructions in the manual, but I turn down the gain on my remote to the a level I prefer. It's only turned up about 1/4 of the way and it's plenty loud for me. There's no way I can blow the basslink with that. Here's a pic of the level my remote is always at.
(the **** next to the scion security)

Hope that helps with your decision.

I don't know how handy you are but...

This is my sub solution...

2 eD Eu-700's in a sealed enclosure. Really nice crisp clean bass and relatively low impact on space in the hatch. I've hosted the plans and you can either build it yourself or have one of the shops build the enclosure for you.

Why not just downgrade to 2 10" Volfenhags instead of 12's? That's what I have. Fits in nicely, 2x Volfenhag 10's with a Volfenhag amp that was installed under the floor cover.

Because I was wanting to minimize my bass, I no longer need all that bass to rattle both my car, my head, and all things around me loose. But I really, REALLY like what you did there OneLiterPeter that might be an option. Do you have the plans readily available or do you have a link to what you refered to. Thanks.

Anyone that wants to build one for themselves or for a buddy etc. is welcome to use my design. However... anyone that wants to fabricate these in a production environment for profit will need to contact me to get permission.

So... if you take the plans to a local shop to get them to fabricate it for you and they get the bright idea that they can make a ton of money selling these things... then... they have to clear it through my company... Dead Dog Design. My email is... flbusa@flbusa.com

Oh and one last thing... Dead Dog design takes no responsibility for any monetary loss, damages or personal injury as a result of fabricating this design. Basically you're on your own.

I don't know where you are in Florida but I'm in the Miami Ft. Lauderdale area if you want to hear how mine sound and you can see my install in person.

Pete I am in Vero Beach and for $50 bucks a piece for the eu-700's it won't hurt plus u can get the two eu-700's and a nine.2x for like upper $200, NOT BAD AT ALL. So I will probably be buying the eu-700's and making up a box following your plans (found them last night after posting) since I already have 3/4 mdf sheet I will just return for the 1/2 mdf and start the task. Still trying to decide on the setup though...

for sure two eu-700's in hatch with the NINe.2x powering them but need to decide on the door speakers either the edi 6000's infront and eu-600 rear powered by the NINe.4
Or
edi 6000's infront and eu-650 in rear with the NINe.4

Well... I can't say enough about the eD speakers (and neither can anyone else that hears my system). I have the eDi 6500s' up front with the Eu-600's in back plus the sub. I don't think that the Eu-650's or 700's in the rear will buy you very much over the Eu-600's. I would definitely consider upgrading the front to the 6500s's though.
Have you done any sound proofing/deadening?

Unless it's a 5.1 system

700's in the back total no-no..unless you don't want people in the back to hear anything above male vocals

Hey Pete, what are the specs of your stealth box? Do you tink it can be made to support 1 8" or 10" sub, or is it too shallow for the magnet to clear?

There's a link to the spec's on one of my previous posts (above).

There's only 4" from the top face of the box to the inside floor. Any speaker with a 3.75" mounting depth will work however... you could make a ring that spaces the speaker off of the top if you wanted.
