Update:White Gauges+Console! NO 56K
The red I used, wasn't neon....it was just a real red or something like that...just red acrylic craft paint. I'll snap a pic for you over lunch...bottle is still sitting on the end table
If it's the stuff I'm thinking of...just red in a little 1 or 2 oz bottle...it looks awesome. I don't have any daytime pics, but the guy I did it for loves it.
Didn't end up getting home for lunch...boss bought it

Thanks for the info on the plain red.
Thanks for the info on the plain red.
I just got around to painting mine today. Trying not to take it out too many times since I am already having to for another project.
I found some more neon red, which comes out pinkish on its own. I mixed it with the regular red and it came out very nice. Looks the same shade as the other red areas on the dash and has a nice neon glow in the daylight. I will post up some pics once it is all back in. I am working on someones console right now so I dont have time.
As mandos noted, use the paint from Wal-Mart (or Micheals, they have the same stuff there). Apple Barrel I believe is the brand I have. They have a million colors. I thought about doing a neon purple needle setup with blue gauges, but there is no other purple on the dash. I want it all to flow together well.
To take apart the needles, you can easiliy break off the two "drops" or blobs of melted plastic that hold the backs of the needles on. Then you can slide the whole needle out of the housing to remove all the paint. Fingernail polish works well. Just take you time and keep wiping.
