Default weird popping noise from components

i installed my infinity components about a week ago and the woofer have a strange pop to it, no matter how high or low i turn the bass. i have an alpine mrp-f250 amp hooked up to them. i also have a set of pioneers hooked up to the rear and they work fine, they're also connected to the amp. can anyone help me out with this?

also. ive noticed the music gets quieter as I come to a stop. is there any way I can turn that off? is it built into the headunit? any help would be appreciated.

the headunit has a feature that does that with the speed of the car i forgot it though its like a off low med or high setting,

and u have speakers and a sub hookcd up to 250 watts?

usually i get craking/popping when i go too loud but u say its at low volumes too which is weird...

sounds like you're sending a bad signal to your amp. clipping the crap out of your speakers most likely. best fix: new headunit

no no no no i have a separate amp for my subs. its the alpine mrp-f450 but thats working fine. my speakers only stop clipping when i turn the frequency up high to the point where there's absolutely no bass whatsoever, but the only bad thing about that is that lvl 50 sounds like stock lvl 20 w/ bass. get what im saying?

and if i put in a new heaunit (which i have), can i just buy that steering wheel control harness and it'll work with it? or does the head unit have to be compatible?

that depends. there are different PAC units for different brand HU's. what HU do you have?

^^ the pac-swi is really more dependent on the car and not the headunit you get.

sounds like you should also check the ground for your amp as well.

but squalheart, the rear speakers work fine. they don't pop unless i turn the frequency really low. which isn't a problem because they really aren't meant for bass anyway.
