Default Whats the best GPS system for about $1000

I am looking at buying a GPS system and i have around $1000 to spend what do u guys recommend? Also will these systems fit, will the steering wheel buttons work, and will the I-Pod adapter from scion work?

hmm.. best bang for your buck... and works great...

i say the TomTom.

but that's not something you would install or replace your HU with. just a unit you would mount somewhere.

I like my handheld GPS/PDA it's a garmin ique 3600. I dont know if they make them anymore since it uses Palm OS, the windows version the M5 was supposed to replace it. But check newegg.com they might still have it. Also only paid $450 for mine

Get one of the top of the line Garmin's. you can get it for about $1000. they are amazing, any where and any place, detours and all. very quick and reliable. when a new sofftware comes out you just download the new maps from the computer right to the device its self.

Bluetooth GPS receiver $100
Software (free-$100)

Total: $500-600

use as GPS, movies, mp3 player, organizer, wireless internet... (it's a computer in your pocket)

I've seen Pioneer AVIC units online for 1,000.00.

i would say save up for a nice navigation unit like the eclipse.. its worth it if you want a good navi + audio. thats if you are arent in a big rush or wutevers
