Default Where to put sirius antenna?

I went to install my antenna for sirius and I forgot that the roof is all glass so you can't put it there, its a hatchback so you can't put in on the trunk, the rear bumper is not metal and the rear side (by the hatch) is not flat so it can easily fall off.

Where do you put it?

what kind of antenna do you have? is it kind of like this?

if it is my dealership put mine on the rear glass right above the hinge for the trunk. If its a different shape. its supposed to go near your rear view mirror. If you can post a pic of it if its different i'll tell you if thats the kind or not.

its exactly the same, but mine is magnetic, it won't stick to glass.

You could try some 3M Double-Sided Adhesive Tape for the window install. Here's where I put mine...

You can use the 3M Tape here too. (So the magnet doesn't scratch your car.) I have another antenna that I'm trying to install by the rear view mirror. So far, the reception has suffered.

I got the best signal by putting my antenna the same as the pic above. I would like to put it at the top of my rear hatch glass though. I just have to figure out how to keep the antenna facing upwards with its rounded top.

$260? I am set up with the newest Sirius unit and is was $160 before rebates. I bought the RCA input adapter to plug into my stock head unit for another $60 and now have crystal clear Sirius with the stock head unit.

I don't want to have a p&p unit anymore, I want either the stock pioneer with the tc to play sirius or I want to get a sirius ready aftermarket radio.

The $260 is for the tuner from scion and the kit.

Thread is back from the dead!

I knew you could put the antenna there. Looks good but I would have mounted it closer to the edge of the window and slighty turned the end piece (with the wire connected to it) right or left. That way you can't really see the antenna wire. Still, VERY creative and good job! Also; I like where you mounted the SIRIUS receiver. Goes very well with the HVAC.

I put my gps antenna (which is like the XM and the sirus) right next to the track for the sunroof. Ran the wire, into the cabin, down the "A" pillar under the dash and into the back of the radio.

I plan on putting the XM antenna on the other side when i pick that up soon.

Here is how I did mine. There is metal under the glass in this place so the antenna wants to stick, but it just needs a bit of help with some double stick tape. WARNING, DO NOT MOUNT IT EVEN WITH THE TOP OF THE REAR WINDSHIELD. I almost broke the rear glass section of my roof when I opened the trunk. The antenna will make contact unless you move it down a bit. So far so good after 2.5 months.
