Does anyone know which is better.....put the transmitter on an FM station that is just static or tune it to a station that is playing clear music already? At first I figured it would have to be an unused station so that the there wouldn't be any other signal competeing with the transmitter. But I have also found it sounds the same on a station that is getting a signal. My antenna is mounted on my trunk.
I wish Sirius streamed Howard on their website so I could listen in my office with some earphones

Just a matter of time!

My unit shuts off or has to be reset after hitting a bump or vibration when the unit is in the docking station.
To record up to 50 hours of live broadcasts, the car unit has to be on
It does not play at home without an additional $100 home adapter.
Can only set scheduled recordings for 2 hours at a time.
My unit freezes up on a regular basis.
FM modulator pops off for no apparent reason. Has to be reset by unplugging
I downloaded the updates and they did not seem to resolve any problems.
It is not very user friendly to the technolgically impaired.

The best part was the back stories and the other dirt that they dug up and of course, the never ending jokes and song parodies that will make fun of each other for years to come. I love that stuff.
Well it took about a month, but I finally 'hardwired' my SIRIUS and iPod to my HU. What a difference in sound quality! NO static! NO hum! I did a DIY. Here's the link...enjoy!

...I've had my SIRIUS for almost 2 months and just love it to death. The vareity is great. About my hardware; I will be honest with you, I've had a couple of times when the 'personal radio' (S50 Unit) has froze up. Which is kind of a pain because you have to take the battery out to clear it. Minor issue to me though.

u can also use xm antennas if u like too. i have a kenwood hu and a matching kenwood tuner for sirius. used to have an old trek antenna but was too big and old looking to fit on the trunk lid. went to circuit city and bought the xm mirco 2 antenna for 32 bucks. for use with pnp recievers there is an included adapter. for my kenwood turner i had to file down one of the grooves on the connecter. plugged it in and works great.
sirius has always been behind on the equipment race but well ahead on programming, which by far is way better IMHO.
