$400 rebate on tC?
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/scio...ves.3.6.Scion*
Anyone know anything about this? I called one of the local dealers here, and they said they weren't aware of it. I am planning on graduation in December, I wonder how strict this thing is.

You can get the $400 college grad money if you finance with Toyota Finance. You have to be within 6 months of graduation or within 2 year mark of already graduated from a 4 year degree. (basically just what edmunds has for the rules.)
Well, the problem is not expiration date (which, at least according to Edmunds is March 31st), but rather that I will most likely be getting the car in a few months. If I buy it in May, which is the most likely date, I still won't be within 6 months of graduation unless I wait until July. That's why I am curious if they would give me the rebate even though I would be like 8 months from graduation.

Why not give them a call and see what they can do. Maybe you can still get the rebate.
Good luck.
the rules are: you need to have graduated from an accredited four year college or university [edit: certain two year colleges qualify as well] within two years of the date of purchase (diploma required) or will be graduating within 6 months (letter from dean required). also, you need to currently hold a job (paystubs required) or you need a letter of intent from an employer stating that you WILL have a job. i forget the time limit on that, but i think it is also 6 months.
additionally, you need to have ABSOLUTELY NO derogatory credit (never missed a payment on anything, and never been late) or NO credit, and you need to finance through scion solutions/toyota financial. if you have zero credit, that is none good, none bad, it qualifies you for automatic tier one approval.
check out scion.com for the current rates in your area, and if you fit all those requirements, you get a $400 college graduate rebate. it's not designed as an incentive, but as a way of getting first time car buyers into a vehicle a little easier.
