^ your right
I make a trip to and from Chicago and Columbus once a month, cruising at about 75-80, its about 350mile each way... I get about 31mpg, and still have about 1.5gallon left in the tank when i reach either Chicago or Columbus. I have a CAI and Exhaust!
Also, i have noticed, once the gas tank hits the halfway mark... it starting going down much faster than the first half of the tank... So the gauges are not very accurate. this has been the case for all my previous cars.

^^^ regarding the guage...yes.. after the halfway point...it goes down way faster than it did on the first half.
i drive all city..like 5% highway 95% city...so i get 20 mpg on average...so i know why its so low...
if i were you...id just fill up the entire tank...

I get about 24-25 mpg on average and I have a SC and I drive about 75 mph average on my comute. Its about 60/40 highway/city. I check my gas mileage every time I fill up and the lowest I've gotten was 23.5 mpg.

A 6 speed would be nice for overall output and get up and go, but not for economy purposes.

You can only judge your mileage when comparing the acutal number of gallons burned to the actual number of miles driven. Here are the steps:
1. Fill up tank
2. Clear trip odometer
3. Drive
4. Fill up tank
5. Note number of gallons that go into the car.
6. Note number of miles driven since last fillup.
7. Divide -> #6/#5 (example 300 miles / 12 gallons = 25mpg)
Do this for 2 or 3 fillups to get a baseline of what your typical mileage is.

You don't want to use the last gallon or so unless you are outrunning a mushroom shaped cloud or funnel. Sucking air through the fuel pump when you get that low can cause problems. Owners manual says get gas when the light comes on asap.
