Default 05 td will not turn over

Hi. Hope someone can help.
I have a 2005 tc and 5th gear was going out. Got a trans and took it over to my redneck cousin to have him swap it and a new clutch out. When he finished the car wouldn't even turn over. Checked starter and every one of the fuses. We have since tried to bump start the car but the wheels lock as soon as it is put in gear and you let the clutch out. I have had the car moved to a person who works on Mazdas but he is at a loss too.
Can someone please share advice or wisdom?
Thank you.

Coulda put the clutch in backwards? Or didn't even put it in right.

The whole redneck part is where you went wrong in the first place.

I know now.
That is what the mazda mechanic thought too. He dropped the trans and says it is in properly.
Thanks.

Sounds like your red neck cousin owes you a new car.

Assuming tranny is installed right this sounds like a fly wheel misinstall. You either did not align it properly (or at all) or you need to make sure the crank sensor is properly plugged back in. Do you have a CEL and code at all?
