07 Scion tC Automatic to Manual swap???
IDK if this question has come up before. If it has id apreciate a link. Anyways I have a 07 scion tC Automatic. I didn't get it that way but you can say I inherited the car and took over the payments. I was just wondering what are the procedures to do a transmission swap from the automatic to manual, prices, time, labor costs, etc. I'm not to sure about a trade in since I've already invested alot of money on the exterior, but if its a last resort Ill do it, since its been 3 years that I've been with the car and I hate paying for something I dont want(not the scion but it being automatic...LOVE Scion)
there is a stickied thread in the drivetrain and power section dedicated to this topic with people who have had the swap done..search
oh and depending on labor rates and how/where you get your parts $3500 is being very generous

Well if you know how to drop the tranny and put the new one in you are a long way closer to gettign it done for much less, you need a totalled tC that has complete front end good, you will need the clutch assy under the dash, wire harness and ECU........the list goes on......and on.......3500 is a low end cost and that is if you do all the work and can source out junkyard parts.......
maybee you should jsut drvie the car and enjoy it as it is and put the money to a better place.........

I have considered this greatly, but I found it is just not worth it. Cause when you mess anything up, that's all on you. If you trade one in, you know it was built correctly and under a warranty. If you're that set on doing it yourself/ paying a lot of money to get it done, then good luck. I just know that I personally wouldn't want to do it.
Look at the link ecko provided.... Plan on spending anywhere from 3-6K (depends on hookups, aftermarket clutch/flywheel etc) Also if this is your daily prepare to find other transportation. This isnt a 2 day thing it can take weeks.
Unless you plan on boosting I wouldnt suggest it. I did mine cause my tranny was toast and in the end it cost near the same to get a new auto put in and the swap. Like you I did alot to the car and didnt want to trade it in.
