Check in your area to make sure if is not against the law to remove the air bag. Also it might dissable the rest of the airbag system if you remove it, not sure though.

first off u spelled warranty wrong but thats ok lol

shouldnt void the warranty. BUT if he does get in a accident and a airbag doesnt go off u cant say hey my airbag didnt go off and blame scion. its a little hassle and is not really worth it. if its just a daily driver the wheel isnt a huge deal.

personal view=not worth it.

Yea personally if I had a kid I would not let them get rid of the airbag. I have seen some pretty nasty tC wrecks and the people survived, so why get rid of the safety features.

Well the biggest thing to worry about other than your child dying in an accident is the fact that the insurance company has the legal right not to cover one single dollar of damage or injury in an accident due to safty equipment being removed from a vehicle.

Would be a shame to have your son survive an accident and have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay the peopel hurt in an accident. If you think it is not possible.......it is......it happened to me when my own insurance was not enough to cover injuries of an accident I caused, they took my house,my car,and everything I owned and auctioned it off.........17years later I still cannot buy a home, have bad credit, cannot get a credit card, all due to one accident.........

If you remove the steering wheel and safty systems on a car then at that point you need to make it a driven to shows only car,not a daily driver.

Default Steering Wheel

I just have to ask. Is he thinking about replacing just the outer ring like the ones that Scion/Toyota offers as one of their accessories? If that's all he's doing, then the airbag is only disabled during the install and is enabled when the install is done. I would recommend that you check on the installs in the upper right hand corner of the page on our site after you click on the link. Adding accessories or aftermarket parts Does Not Void the Warranty. Please check out the link on our home page at www.trdsparks.com that explains why. As always, we recommend a professional installation. Here's a link to the one that Toyota sells.....

Along with your son's SAFETY, this should be your next concern. I believe it is illegal (everywhere?) to replace an OEM streering wheel with one without an airbag. Any aftermarket wheels should be labeled as "off road use only."
