Default 2006 TC Release Date IPOD

I was wondering when the new 2006 scion TC will be released and if the ipod accessory hook up will be available?

Best guess would be late 2005 like a normal model year release. I think the 2005 was sold early because it was a new model and I wouldn't expect to see an 06 as early in the year as we did with the 2005. More than likely the iPod adapter will be an option, lets us with 05's hope it's somehow backwards compatible.

one last thing it looks like the best thing to do for options on the tc is to get the stuff done at the dealer that I cant do like body kit spoiler stuff and just get the other options off eBay for cheaper... Is that what everyone else has been doing? I see others in the forum go to mcgeorge website but those prices are still higher than ebay!

I"ve bought some things from eBay and some from Sparks or McGeorge. It's hard to tell you what to do for options we don't know about. If it's a simple plug into the stereo I'd say DIY because you can get better deals for simple DIY things than letting the dealer do it.

I imagine the 06 is going to be closer to August or September. The 05 came out in June iirc, and that's an early launch for a new model year.

FM transmitters suck. I wish they would just have an RCA in or the small headset type plug input to the HU. That way it wouldn't be Ipod specific. I do understand how it would benefit Scion and Apple if it were a specific input for the Ipod though.

I wish Scion would do like VW did with all new Beetles and just add a 1/8th inch plug under the dash, u can plug whatever mp3 player you have in there and u dont get crappy sound like you do with fm transm. or tape adapters. i think u press the CD button twice and it goes into AUX mode, works great.

First off, do a search on this stuff. There are threads about the 06 release dates all over. It's middle May, BTW.

Second, the iPod connector will come on the 6-disc changer radio which is an option in the car. The single disc gets an 1/8" jck on the front panel.

I saw the data from the national dealer meeting, and it said 5/16. That's why I said said May, cause that's what I learned.

There are also some color changes. Silver and Blue are changing paint codes.

I'm not doubting you. I noticed McGeorge already had 2006 in their listing. I still think May is awful early to change model years tho. I hope they know what they are doing.
