I talked to Scion this week, through their chat thing, and received an email from their accessories department. They are still finalizing everything for the new accessories, so I doubt it'll be May as stated above.

End of the summer seems more likely...

It was May for the tC, and July for the A and B. The release of the RS1.0 tC is coinciding with 05 model year sell down.

As I said in my other posts, I take no responsibility for Toyota changing their plan, but that is the info that I am working off of right now.

the belkin FM transmitter works great with my zen micro mp3, and they have those direct plug in ones at best buy... I dont know how easy it would be to hook that up though.

Most people waited a while to get an 05, so welcome to the club.

I don't know what to tell you, it looks like the 06 is going to have the iPod integrated controls on the 6disc changer, it's also quite possible this part will bolt-in on an 05 (which is what I am hoping for).

Yes, JUMBO has been of great help in relaying what information he knows at this point. He told me about the 6disc changer being the one with the integrated iPod control. He also thinks it might bolt-on to an 05 harness, but as he cannot say for sure at this point in time I wouldn't get my hopes up just incase they did something screwy, but like he said, it would probably cost a lot of money to rework the wiring harness and wiring from the MY05 to MY06.

Hopefully JUMBO will keep us updated as he learns more about the much sought after 6disc changer with iPod controls.

When we get the part number for 06 radios, I'll get one in and try it in an 05 car.

Just received this info from our Distributor

MY06 Interior Changes — 1st month of production is May PPR1
• Steering wheel audio controls
• New audio head unit design (shared w/ xA & xB)
• iPod / Mini-jack connectors (inside center console)
• 2 new exterior colors
o 1F7 (Classic Silver Metallic)
o 8S6 (Nautical Blue)
• BE option (side curtain airbags) on the 2006MY will be ordered at 25% until demand increases.

The last section is for our region(Gulf States). They also had the following info about tthe RS 2.0 xA

xA Release Series 2.0 factory code SF
Release Series Package includes:
• Spectra Blue Mica 8M6 exterior w/color-tuned fabric
• Sporty grille, Fog lights, Rear Spoiler
• Interior Blue LED light kit
• Individually Numbered Release Series badges
• Release Series floor mats with cargo mat

Hope this helps everyone. It doesn't say anything about differences with the 6 CD or single CD. With Production starting in May, we will likely start to see them around the end of June '05.

bdon -

Does it look like the new audio head unit/steering wheel audio controls will be able to be fitted on an 05 - or will we be left drooling over the 06s. Thanks for all the info.

Hmmm, my 2005 RS 1.0 is sitting in the lot right now, tint is done, but springs and spoiler won't be here until May (re. springs, something about TRD gettting bought by Toyota if that makes any sense).

BUT, I can't pick up my car until the radio gets in.... they are all out of single disc decks and are waiting for the supply truck to arrive.... I wonder if I will get a "2006" deck????
I will post if I find a front input jack....

Reading the post again, the ipod/mini jack will be in the center console, not in the dash. This is so much better than a front input jack, you can completely hide an ipod in the center console powered by the auxiliary jack and hooked to the stereo through the mini jack. Seriously making me think about waiting 2 months for the 06...

If you have an aftermarket radio, chances are it doesn't matter about the audio controls one way or the other. Still a nice option though, which I bet it will be an option - replacement steering wheel for 500$ anyone?

If it's an iPod dock connector, you don't even need the minijack. I think the minijack is there for people with a non-iPod mp3 player.
