IS 300 Fog Lights on tC !!!Updated PICS! Page 2!!!!!!
Just to let you know........
Since those are projection lights/fogs there is a cut off shield in at the end of the bowl inside the projection housing. When turning the foglights upside down you will have little or not any light on the ground.
This shield causes a cut off and it "cuts off" un-wanted light that may blind drivers. So when you turn them upside down the cut off area is going to be pointing on the road and the lighted area is going to be above/off the road.
You may have to take them apart for the fogs to actually light up the road.
All in all the fogs will look sexy if mounted on the tC.

^^^^^^what he said^^^^^^^ You MUST take out the "cut offs". You may be able to remove the entire projector unit and remount it upside down. If you can do that, you won't have to disassemble the entire unit.

I ran into some old friends and we went out racing and to the track. So Im planning on doing the install this weekend I promise!
As for the taking out the "cut offs", yea ill do that after I see how the look with them. You are most likley right Mx6, but just in case im going to not take them out first run through.
Yes pictures will be documented through out the whole process don't worry.
Again sorry everyone for making you wait another week, what can I say I love street racing my tC. This is the weekend though. Then come another month Ill have the new bumper with the fogs installed right side up and the DIY for that as well.

I am aware that projector headlamps have the cutoffs, but are you certain the same is true of projector fogs like the one on the is300? It is positioned rather low and unlike headlamps, is much farther away from oncoming traffic's target line of sight.
It would be a pretty simple test to just turn on the fogs and hit them on a wall and see if there is in fact a cutoff(as there should be with a shield). Just thought i'd mention my thoughts in case there really is no shield inside and to prevent anyone from having to waste the time of opening up the fog assemblies and having to seal em back up.
just my 2cents.

But to answer your question, you probably wouldn't be able to see it from the outside since the projector itself will have a foggy appearance and will not be able to be seen through. You cna tell by turning on the fogs alone and pointing them toward a wall and you should observe a horizontal cutoff line on the projected light as it appears on the wall.

he said it was a dealer loaned tC for the grill shots..
And they were experiementing with possible fog light options..
obviously they didnt choose those, because they have those grill incerts..
the dealer is relectant to release what they tried...
Here is a pic of the cut off. I pointed the housing at a ceiling light and took the picture through the back.

You can clearly see the cut off. It looks like it is metal, but i don't think it will be hard to move. I almost forgot, this is the light in the position that it will fit in the tc bumper without much modification.

Okay, i fixed the cutoff problem. I heated around the lens on the fog light till the glue was hot, pulled the lens off, and then switched the right and left projector units flipping them both upside down. The cutoff is now in the right place when the fog light is upside down. I will go buy bulbs and harnesses tomorrow. I will post pics tomorrow night or Thursday of the lights lit up. I prob won't get to install them on my car for a few days. I promised to help a friend of mine install some door poppers on a 54 chevy before we start with my lights, so....... It might be a day or two
Very nice - I was wondering if there was going to be something that simple - I like the idea of keeping the cutoffs, since they're obviously there for a reason. This seems pretty good, even though it would be nice to mod as little as possible. What kind of glue do you use to reset them? If you heat the original glue to get them loose, will it cool and hold the new ones in places as well?
The only bad thing is that the projectors are originally held in place by 2 screws and 1 bolt thingy. When you switch them around only the 2 screws will fit. But it doesn't look or feel any different.... I did use the original glue to reset the lenses. I cools and works just like it did.
ok so we've determined for sure that there is in fact a cutoff shield, and a relatively simple method of remedying the problem if assemblies are installed upside down.
Now all we need is to be patient and wait for some pics of how the actual housings fit in place of the faux vents.
