My best friend and I went to a Nissan dealer last month to test out the Z and the Sentra SE-R 6SPD.

Well the 350Z has uhh well, a minivan like feel into it except for its 2 seats and the sporty gauge... I didn't like anything about it except for its nice leather interior and I think it is one of the worst ever sports coupes out there!

I'll tell you this OK, the acceleration feels just like a tC with a lighter flywheel except the 350Z has a different "humming engine noise"... (sorta like a Tacoma X-Runner sound) It's really not a fun drivers car, it actually makes you feel like a 60 year old business man... I'd give it a C rating and I actually like driving the SE-R more than the 350Z 6 SPD

If I where to get a sports car, I'd definitely get an RX-8 which sounds like a bike and is nimble enough to be actually fun, I test drove it and I actually like to drift it but, the salesman wouldn't let me touch the TRAC...

So I say, just turbo the tC and change almost everything on the shifter, clutch and suspension! The tC is a pretty fun ride similar to the MS3.

And again, don't buy the 350Z it just doesn't feel like a real sports car...

Are you sure you drove a 350z? If so, I don't know what you're talking about. minivan feeling?

It's fine tho, if that's your opinion it is what it is. But just know that it greatly differs, and it is basically on the opposite side of the general knowledge of the 350z.

A turbo tC would feel like a real sports car right?

Oh, and no the RX-8 is out. The rotary engine...no no.

You should love minivans if you like the Z... It's a terribly built sports car, it's for the dads who like driving minivans!

(Oh well, It's built for idiots for the American market anyway... So it lost the actual Japanese sports car spirit unlike the supposed to be a Celica tC which still has its suspension feel.)

to MVplaya,

I drove it, my friend who drives an STi drove it (we said almost the same thing except he wanted suede), the dealer got disappointed because we liked the SE-R more and we didn't buy a car.

The only thing good about the Z is it's FR unlike the tC which is FF, but still I'd say I like how the tC handles more than the Z...

toyota, are you reading this? BUILD ANOTHER SPORTS CAR!!!

But seriously, check out the S2000 (if ur getting a stick). Beat the pants off a 350z. Of course, you could always get a 2008 Nissan GT-R and put everyone to shame > id kill for atessa, hicas, and a nisssan 3.7L twin turbo O_O

What are you talking about military bases for? How did you get that out of what i said?

The VQ motor is the new wave in japanese performance sport cars. ITs been in the 350z, and will also be in the new Skyline.

forpinks doesn't know what he's talking about.

Saying the 350z is one of the WORST sport coupes out there and it drives like a minivan shows you his credibility. Being RWD, that should be enough for you to recognize it's not a "minivan."

It's not even worth it.

i think z's are overrated, their interiors are cheap and it looks like some goofy anime character. however, i love that motor, go g35 or 37
get that used, turbo or supercharge it, then you'll have power and comfort and style.

You are DEFINITELY in the minority. That's almost completely unbelievable. If the fact that you prefered the SE-R over the Z didn't demolish your credibility, then this comment did. The tC is a BOAT compared to the Z. I'm not even a huge fan of the 350z, but come on, I think you might be in dire need of a sense of perspective.

OMG...this post is just TOO funny. I can't even remember the last time I ever seen an RX8 beat a 350z in ANYthing. Let alone a Sentra SE-R.

Do you know anything about the Rotary engine? Perhaps you should go back to the dealership and ask the Dealer if you can read the owners manual for an RX8. RX8 is about as fast as the 2007 Civic Si. Both run like low 15's in the 1/4 mile. The oldest 350z runs anywhere from 13.9-14.1 (convertible runs 14.3).

When you drove the Z, I'm willing to bet that you didn't turn off the traction control. The VDC in the 350z is designed to reduce engine power being pumped out. It's there for Wet weather conditions where potential traction issues may arise. Even if you have the pedal mashed to the floor, the engine is not spinning as fast as it's capable of. Turning off/disengaging the VDC allows you to have fun. When you turn it off, it becomes a hella-fide drifter and allows you to put all the power the motor is capable of.

LOL....They give the RX8 like a 4 car length start, and it gets passed by everybody.

That's not true either. Generally, 350z's top end > S2k. So, you usually see a Z pull ahead in the top end.

Straight line, maybe. I'd rather have an S2K any day.

how much is a 350z? cause if its anywhere near the price of an evo or sti, well then i dont know why your asking this question. 350z, and stage 0 tc are real close to equal in my opinion. but if i had to chose one, id go with the tc. for what it is, the 350z falls short of my expectations.

It's not always about straight lines.
