The one I have bookmarked while waiting for mine is $225 uninstalled http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7919383350

If that is installed that is a smokin deal!!!!
Thanks

Can anyone vouch for the quality of any of these products? Is everyone going with the 8 mil 3M stuff? I'm definitely getting this whenever my car finally gets here, but I'm not sure if I should buy the one off of ebay or what....

I posted somewhere earlier that my friend got the full set up for his gti off the link I posted from ebay. I 'helped' him put it on last weekend. It fit perfectly! Came with a full set of step by step instructions too. It was supposed to be easier then the tC's bumper. We had an interesting time with the install but we took our time and it came out fine. I am going to get one when I get my car. Though I think I am going to have at least the bumper put on by a shop.

From what I found in my research, 3M is the only one with a clear coat - helps it shine and keeps it looking better long term. Also every one I found (even different mfg) were either 6 or 8 mil

Interesting info - thanks. I agree that for the first time on a car we all care about, I think the front facia on the tC is just too hard to be done by amateurs - this is no mudflap install. I know the 3M site lists their approved installers by area. They're mostly tint shops so I'll probably just shop around and pick from one of them. For $225, this sounds like a pretty damn good deal, so I'll probably get it that way.

I hadn't heard about the clear coat from anyone - where did you find that information?

Several of the dealers we went to had the 3M bras on cars in the showroom and were very excited about it. Tried to get me to say yes, I said maybe. They gave me some info and then I hit google for more info. Then I searched eBay. I am always impressed with the amount of businesses there. It is like a mall for the new millennium, with not parking hassles Got excited when I found the store on ebay, unbelievable prices. So when I was talking to my friend with the gti, I convinced him it was a good idea, and then got him to be the guinea pig. He ordered one and we put it on, it was great! A lot smaller than what I was looking at for the tC, so I guess it was easier, though not exactly easy. So I am going to get one from the ebay place and have it put on by somebody who knows what they are doing. Though I am still thinking I might do the hood myself, though maybe not....
