Well i think the consensus is, that you should go ahead and get a manual, learn to drive it, hopefully you'll have fun... and if you don't like, then you know your next car will be an auto, but you'll still know how to drive stick.

So get a stick. Manuals are for drivers, automatics are for riders.

I went from manual cars all my life to my previous car prior to the TC being automatic, it was nice and all but their is only so much you can do with that overdrive button.. again nothing beats driving a manual car IMO. Thx

You shouldn't getting tired of MT, you should getting tired of the slow traffic. Even if you drive a AT, you'll sick of driving in the traffic.

Duluth is on a hill. MT is tricky around here. Adds to the "good driver" stat.

Stickshift makes the car an extension of my body. Be one with the car.

thanks for the comments everyone. my commute to work is 25 min. in heavy city traffic (especially if i have the mid-shift). not sure yet how far ill have to commute for college, but there arent really any good colleges around here. Im gonna be safe and go w/the auto. the one i ordered should arrive soon anyway. the worse that can happen is that i get really bored with the auto tranny and i guess i could trade it in for a 5spd some day. maybe the '07 model :D

Put it this way, if you buy an automatic, there'll be times when you'll say "Shoot, wish I got the stick". If you buy the manual, there'll be times when you say "Shoot, wish I got the auto". You just gotta ask yourself which one you'll be regretting less.

That being said, I commute 24 miles each way, often in moderate-heavy traffic, and I haven't regretted going with the manual. In fact, with the boredom of being stuck in a traffic jam, at least having to shift gives me something to do!

Plus, I just love the "feel" of manual transmissions, even if I'm just a passenger.

Get a manual, you'll regret it when Hybrid cars take over the market and automatic is all there is............

I"ve had my car since the 1st of last Sept and been loving it ever since. Traffic in Boston is pretty bad but I don't drive all the way into the city. I don't mind driving it in traffic although I know I should. I just love driving a mt.

Ive driven manual since I was 16 and have never wished I had an auto. If you enjoy driving and enjoy cars then go with the manual, if driving is more of a thing you have to do and you dont really enjoy it go with the auto.

i don't know anyone that is tired of driving stick. they should make it a law that you should pass your driving test w/ a manual tranny.

tell that to Ferrari drivers with the paddle shift gearbox, unless you dont classify them as a sports car.

Egypt is in the guinness book of world records for having the easiest driving test... the one thing they dont tell you is that it has to be a manual transmission car. I forget how many meters in the forward direction, then how many meters in reverse - gets you a license over there. ( I can only imagine how many people in the states would fail that test)

And anyone who's visited egypt knows how crazy driving is over there... and only Benz's have automatic transmissions there

hmmmm, with paddle shifters you're manually shifting the car... sounds like a manual to me.
