Am I too old?
I don't think age matters. The only thing I don't like is Scion's marketing. Every time I see pictures of people it's these trying-to-be-cool-too-hard ultra-hip kids who are even too cool to smile for the camera normally and instead make hand signs and make their face look mean.

I wouldn't say that it alienates anyone, besides, most of the people in their ads are in their 20's (low 20's albeit). Toyota as a brand has the oldest average age demographic in the automotive industry, as their product line reflects this (say bye-bye Celica and MR2). That's why they invented the Scion brand, to market to those who are young and to those who are still young at heart.

I'm 29 and I love my xB. Get the tC, it will make you feel younger.
BTW, if you have to explain that you get a GM discount after mentioning the malipuke maxx, then imagine having to explain that every time someone says "you should've bought the scion". j/k, kinda

Heck, I'm almost 39 and I just got an xA a few months ago. You are as old as you feel. Drive what makes you happy.
I'm about to be 25 and my fiance loves the car too - she is 27. We're planning on kids in the foreseeable future and not worried about it - she has a bigger car.
BUT... i WILL say definitely test the mini cooper before you make a decision - I just got rid of mine and now I'm just waiting for my tC to show up at the dealer.
the MINI is a fantastically fun car... but I would say it is less suitable for a "family car"

I see how you could view some cars as being for a certain age bracket. Safe, cheap cars are ones typically purchased for kids by their parents. I don't think that the tC is in any way considered a kids car. It doesn't carry the luxury as a g35 or 350z but it is an inexpensive, beautiful coupe.
If you drive it and love it, buy it. People will say what they will say regardless of the car you purchase. Drive what you love. Drive a Lexus/Merc and they will think you're a young rich punk driving an old mans car. Drive a Jetta and they'll think you stole your gfs car and wonder if she's still in highschool.
Please note the last sentence was a horrible stereotype not intended for anything beyond exhibiting the shallow, judgemental members of the populous.
The point is not caring what people say or think.
I'm 23, and absolutely adore mine.
