Hey any of you who dont already have it, dont look forward to getting the Scion aftermarket exhaust system. My dad works for toyota, he said they were discontinued due to a problem with the exhaust system, so all you who managed to get the ones that slipped out, be wary of them. If my dad was just recieving false info, im sorry that this text is wrong. -Matt

 

Did your Dad say "what the problem was"? Would help to know a little more info. Also, the TRD exhaust system is still listed as an accessory on scion.com....

first i have heard of this, mine should be here next week there not making enuff to deal with demand like everything else with this car .....i still love it tho :D

 

I heard that the exhaust was in short supply, but last week when I was talking to a dealer they didn't say it was discontinued. I heard that the cool air intake is delayed because of problems with California's emission requirements or something like that, though..

 

They are not discontinued. They are on back-order and should start shipping within the next two weeks. I just had a conversation with the Scion brand director for CAT about this. He confirmed what my parts department has been saying for a few weeks now that they are simply back-ordered.

The cold air intake is a different issue. No word on when they will become available. They are on a "stop sale" which means they don't know when they will have them for us to sell.

 

my dealer spoke with Scion HQ and said that they found a giltch with the TRD exhaust and put a stop sale to that until they can fix it. that's the only item that i haven't received yet. my springs and sway bar were on backorder but i got them and installed them already.

 

So if I already have my exhaust and havent had any problems do you think I need to worry about this? Should I take it in or what? :?:

 

i'm sure they will have some sort of recall if a glitch is indeed the case... keep checking up on your dealer.

 

My rep said there wasnt a glitch. They just sold more than planned so they are bumping production.

 

I haven't had any problems with mine yet. I love my TRD Exhaust :D

Thanks again for updating the group on the "real" story. I have been on vacation and glad to have an answer on the TRD. BTW, the TRD is pretty awesome....
