Default Another TC all banged up

Ok i was at a stop sign, the old person (55 and stupid)was at the sop sign in front of me was going left and started to go and as you can the rear of my car is at the stop sign. He just decided to stop in the middle of the road. I was turning right and bang he slammed on the breaks. As i am sure you can tell it was a truck and it is in the stop sign pic. The truck only has a dent in the bumper and some miner scrapes. I am fine just a little mad, the old goat is ok also if that matters.

Insurance company is going to have it towed to the "preferred shop" and get an estimate to the insurance company. When i get the rental i will try and get some more pics up.

Thanks again

EDIT 1) sorry about my bing fingers and the cell pics
EDIT 2) I got zero tickets
Any input would be awesome, thanks in advance.

You know you're supposed to stop at a stop sign, right? Not blast through at 20 or 30mph. If you were stopped then you would not have plowed into the back of a truck.

I was stooped at the stop sign and "the old goat" stooped in the middle of the road and i was starting from a stop so i was going no faster than 10 15 tops

I'm willing to bet you are the one that will get the ticket and the repair bill.
What if a dog or a kid ran out in front of him, making him stop?
You hit him, and it sounds like you're at fault.
If that's the case, learn from it and be glad nobody got hurt.

I love how some of you start in on the "old-person" bashing, when this site is filled with threads on wrecked tCs - almost 100% by kids.
So, before you go slamming the older folks, you may want to look in a mirror...just a thought.
My insurance is certainly higher from younger Scion drivers and not "old goats"

If he was going left and you were going right, him stopping in the middle of the road should not have affected you in any way. In order to be blocking your right of way, he would have to be stopped no more than a couple of feet past the stop line. That means you should have been completely stopped at the time when he made his unexpected stop. If your eyes were facing forwards, then it wouldn't have been difficult to see a stopped car several feet in front of you while you were travelling at 0mph. You either came in heavy, carrying too much speed, or you were looking sideways/downwards (*cough* cell phone) when you should have been looking at the car in front.

Better idea - you go away (school?) and learn reading comprehension?
Yeah, that's the ticket.

comprehension |ˌkämpriˈhen ch ən|
noun
1 the action or capability of understanding something : some won't have the least comprehension of what I'm trying to do | the comprehension of spoken language.

If this was directed at SciontCya, you're an imbecile who, as stated, needs to brush up on comprehension. That post was completely legible.

As for old folks, I don't consider 47 old by any means. I'm refering to 65+ seniors who cannot see above the steering wheel of their Buick or Oldsmobile boat of a car. A very old woman plowed into my lane at a two-lane right turn, and ever since, I have yet to be proven wrong about my stereotype.
People in the left lane stay in the outer side of the turn, right lane cars remain on the inside. Well, this woman shot straight for the outside lane, ignoring the fact that I already occupied that space. That could have been a costly mistake.

Thank you, Zebman.
I am for re-testing folks when they get (truly) old.
My parents are now 72, and while my mom doesn't drive - never did, I am for being re-tested.
If you're competent, then no problem.
If not, no driving privileges.
The facts are that the oldest and youngest drivers are the most accident-prone.
States need to have better driver's ed. and testing.

Not saying you did anything wrong, but you should avoid putting yourself in that position in the first place. I know exactly what you are talking about, and I avoid the outer right-turn lane for that very reason. The inner lane is usually more crowded because a lot of people don't know that two right-turn lanes are available - but that is precisely the problem. If people don't know there are two turn lanes, then they will shoot for any lane they feel like shooting for when they complete their turn. Every time I am making a right turn from the outer lane, I get ready with the brake and the horn because I just know someone is going to cut me off. Best advice is to stay safe and use the inner lane like all the other sheep.
