Yep, you always run the risk of melting your stock harnesses, etc when you run hids, or aftermarket bulbs. That's why you use a relay harness that draws power directly from the battery instead of through your stock harness.

I have the 3BSpec kit from Opteratic. It also comes with the relay harness, and the slim ballasts are much easier to fit under the hood. My only issue was that it was having problems igniting but it turned out one side of the fusde holder plug wasn't seated all the way, pushed it all the way up into the fuse holder and no problems now.

originally i had just put brighter bulbs (silverstars) in exchange for my oem and they looked great till i noticed the outlett where the bulb gets connected to was all like melted so i went to autozone and got these like higher wattage connetors and jost snipped the old ones off and soldered these on! then i got hid's and have had them through a winter and two summers and still work and havnt melted, who know maybe its just luck

Same thing happened to me when I bought some cheap light bulbs from ebay, my light kept flickering so I checked and my connecter was melted also. So then I upgraded to HID's and no problems ever, I even drive with it on in the morning because it looks cool

I have one huge issue, driving someone's car without HIDs is downright painful

I've used McCulloch HID kits for a few years in two different cars. Never had any problems.
